Iran Began Gasoline Exports to Neighboring Countries http://hamsayeh.net/world/711-iran-began-gasoline-exports-to-neighboring-countries.html

Iran began export of gasoline to overseas market since gaining self-sufficiency in the production of this strategic commodity, announced Iranian oil official and head of the customs Abbas Memarnejad, on Wednesday.According to Memarnejad during last month, 6.1 thousand metric tons of gasoline was exported to other countries totaling over $5 million in export revenue. The news comes soon after Iran decided to launch a crash program for boosting its domestic gasoline productions by upgrading the existing refineries that have led to increase in gasoline productions.

Iran plans to boost domestic output from the current 42 million liters to 186 million liters per day within a five-year timeframe. This year alone there was an increased output of over 22 million liters."We have exported some gasoline supplies to Afghanistan this (Iranian) year (started on March 21) and held some negotiations with Armenia and Iraq over the export of oil products (including gasoline) to these countries," Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeiqami told reporters.

Iran is implementing major oil and gas swaps with neighboring countries including Turkmenistan, Armenia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Some 400 to 500 thousands of diesel fuel was exported to Iraq last and the volume is expected to reach one million liters this year. This month, a senior Iranian oil official announced that the country plans to export its gasoline production surplus to the neighboring countries, including Iraq, Armenia and Afghanistan.
