Washington will not succeed to undermine Iran-India ties: journalist http://tehrantimes.com/index_View.asp?code=240188

Siddharth Varadarajan, editor- in- chief of THE HINDU newspaper, tells Tehran Times in an exclusive interview that he does not “think that Washington will be successful” to damage friendly ties between Iran and India.Varadarajan also censures The West for backing Saudi Arabia’s military intervention in Bahrain. “Now, Saudi Arabia is doing injustice to Bahraini civilians and unfortunately, Western countries are silent.”

TEHRAN TIMES: How do you evaluate the future of Iran-India relations?Varadarajan: I am optimistic about our future relations with relying on our past cooperation. Until now, we had many commercial and political and also cultural relations and this cooperation will continue in condition of having wise authorities in the two countries.

TEHRAN TIMES: What is your opinion about the oil transaction between Iran and India? Can sanctions affect the transaction? Varadarajan: India is progressing economically and in this way, it needs to have enough energy resources. So oil is a strategic need for New Delhi and the result is a strategic oil relation with Iran.

TEHRAN TIMES: What is India’s position toward the Iranian nuclear program? How can NAM support Iran in its nuclear standoff with the West?  Varadarajan: India admits that the Iranian nuclear program is peaceful and Iran has no intention for producing nuclear bomb. But Western countries, as always, try to create propaganda against any program they want. The Iranian nuclear program is one of the issues which the U.S. decided to pressure Tehran for it. But NAM countries in all international meetings including IAEA sessions defend the program and support Iran.

[IRAN IS BRINGING BOTH PAKISTAN AND INDIA TOWARDS NEW ALLIANCES,IF IT SUCCESSFULLY MEDIATES A PEACEFUL NEGOTIATION INCLUDING BOTH,THIS WILL DESTROY US AMBITIONS IN REGION,SO FAR ITS HEADED IN THAT DIRECTION,I LOVE IT...

Dear blogger -- this interview of mine is a forgery, the Tehran Times has withdrawn it after I pointed it out. The views and language are not mine at all and I would appreciate it if you deleted this post from yoir blog as well.
